Yes. To edit a chapter, you should choose a novel on the “Novels” page. Next, click the “Edit Text” button. Click on the chapter of interest and change the required text. The last step is to click the “Save”. All done!
To delete a chapter, you should choose a novel on the “Novels” page. Next, click the “Edit Text” button. On the left, you will see a list of your chapters—press 3 dots next to the chapter you want to delete. Press the “Delete” button.

You could upload 10k words of your story directly on the platform and apply for the Exclusive contract. Each book should go through the review process. If all the requirements are met, you receive contract approval and a ready-to-sign agreement. In other cases, you receive the rejection with a specified reason. If additional clarification is needed during the review, our team will connect you via email.
As a platform, we want to provide our readers with quality content and our authors with great opportunities. Our editing team checks carefully if the book cover, annotation, and chapters meet our requirements. The Exclusive book could be rejected if it contains:
- Prohibited content

No, such applications will be rejected. Using not your legal name blocks the ability to provide the KYC check and affects the agreement’s effectiveness.
KYC means Know Your Customer and sometimes Know Your Client. KYC or KYC check is the mandatory process of identifying and verifying the client's identity when opening an account and periodically over time. In other words, banks must make sure that their clients are genuinely who they claim to be.
KYC verification is a mandatory procedure for identifying a person. We do this check in order to protect the platform (authors and readers) from possible fraudulent activities. This check includes all identification procedures (passport data and other data that we request at the stage of applying for a contract), as well as their analysis. That is why it is important that you provide your correct data in order to pass the review.
No. The flow of the application process doesn’t contain such a requirement. If you don’t want to publish your novel before the contract is approved, you could leave the chapters in drafts. This way the team could conduct the review, but your novel is not visible for the readers.
The cover has to be attractive as it helps readers to define visually whether they want to read the novel or not. Covers that do not contain such info as the book’s title and author’s name wouldn’t be approved. The quality of the background image, font style, and color also matters. You can apply for the Exclusive contract if free chapters of the novel are placed on other sources. All paid chapters should be deleted before the application, otherwise the agreement would be rejected.
The review process usually takes up to 2 weeks. If the contract is approved, both sides need to put their signatures on it. Here all depends on you - the faster you sign, the faster the process is completed.
We provide every author with the feedback, so the reject reason is defined in a note that is visible in the email or on your writer's account. If you can fix the issue, there is a huge chance that the Exclusive contract will be approved after reapplying. If you don’t want to continue the signing process, you could request to delete the book directly via the platform.
It contradicts the terms and conditions of the Exclusive agreement. If you want to place your work on other sources, you should change the contract's type to Non-Exclusive or terminate the contract (message your editor or [email protected] if the assistance is needed). Placing the book on other sources after the contract is signed would be defined as fraudulent activity. The Exclusive contract will be terminated immediately and the book may be deleted.
You can do this if the Exclusive contract is no longer effective.
How to sign a contract
You can apply for a contract directly on the Writers web platform and choose the most suitable conditions for our partnership.
First, you have to create a novel. Click the “Create Novel” button and follow the next steps.
To apply for the contract, you should upload at least 10,000 words. When this requirement is met, navigate to the “Novels” section and click the “Apply Contract” button.
Non-Exclusive contract is effective for 2 years, Exclusive - for 5 years. The terms might be subject to negotiations, so you can contact [email protected] if some adjustments are needed.
You need to fill in such gaps as:
Name: your full legal first and last name which could be proved by your ID;

Email: email to which you have access as it is a necessary part of the contract’s signing;

For non-exclusive books it takes 10-14 business days to review the application. Exclusive books are reviewed within 2 weeks.
There are some cases, when additional information is needed from the author. Our team sends inquiries to the email address you’ve used while applying for the contract. Please, check your inbox (including spam) and provide all the necessary information. Do not hesitate to contact [email protected] if it is not the case.
You could find a specified reason in the email from our Partnerships team or directly on the platform. Click on "Rejected" to the right of the Contract status, and you will see your rejection reason. To increase your chances of getting the contract, read the “How to get approved” article in our blog previous to the application.
You can reapply at the Writers platform.
Click on the Contract status - "Rejected" and then press "Try again".
Now you can visit our Writers platform to read and sign your contract.
Please click "Ready to sign" button to the left of your book title. Then click the "Sign Contract" button. You will be redirected to the document with your contract.
The contract should be signed by both sides to become effective. Once it is done, you could publish more chapters on our Writers platform and start earning with AlphaNovel! Also, you can check the “Getting started” section of F.A.Q.s for more details.
You can change the contract type directly via the platform. The book should be reviewed by the editorial team once again. If all the criteria are met (check the Review Policy), you get the approval and need to put your signature on the new agreement. If the application is rejected, you could see the reason in the email or on your writer's account.
You could also apply for changing the contract type directly via the platform. However, the team reserves the right to refuse such change during the contract term.
You can publish your stories on another platform only under a non-exclusive contract.
In some cases, both parties could terminate the contract. All the terms and conditions you could find in the corresponding paragraph of the agreement. You could create a “book deletion” request via the platform, or send an inquiry to [email protected]. If the contract is officially terminated, the book would be deleted from the platform.
Unfortunately, we cannot change the existing contract for several reasons, particularly because the process is automated and secure.
The contract is created based on all of the book's data and the information you filled in when you applied.

How to withdraw your earnings
We prefer to pay using PayPal and Payoneer. We can also do wire transfers, but the bank charges more, so it only makes sense to send larger amounts. Each case of a wire transfer should be discussed separately with your editor, or you can request a payment through [email protected].
Payouts are done bi-weekly. You can request a payout any day. However, payment requests will be processed only on the 15th and the last day of the month. For example, you request a payment on February 16th. Your payment will be processed on the last day of the month, which is February 28th. On average, it takes 2-4 days to process the payment. After sending the payment, the PayPal / Payoneer transfer usually takes 1-3 days. Thus, you will receive the payment on March 3-7th.
It depends on the payment method you have chosen. For PayPal and Payoneer payments on the average take from 1 to 3 days. For wire transfers, payments usually take five days.
Yes. The threshold for PayPal, Payoneer payments is $25. The threshold for wire transfer may vary due to your country, bank etc, usually it's $160.

No, the recipient pays for transaction costs. For PayPal and Payoneer, fees can be found on their official websites. For a wire transfer, the payment fee may vary due to your country, bank etc.

What are the bonuses and how to get them
We offer two types of royalties, and they depend on the contract type. For an exclusive contract, you can choose to either receive a 15% share of gross revenues or a 60% share of net revenue. For a non-exclusive contract, you can choose to either receive a 10% share of gross revenues or a 50% share of net revenue.
Gross revenue is the total number of coins users have spent on a particular book before any deductions.
Net revenue is gross revenue minus marketing costs, transaction costs, store commissions and other expenses.
We have signing and completion bonuses. The signing bonus is a reward for adding new books to our platform. The completion bonus is a reward for finishing your book. We do not require any kind of attendance or writing schedule.
To get a signing bonus, your novel should have at least 30,000 words regardless of contract type. As for the completion bonus, your novel should have at least 75,000 words for an exclusive contract and at least 80,000 words for a non-exclusive contract.
You get a signing bonus of $50 for non-exclusive and a signing bonus of $150 for an exclusive contract. A number of signing bonuses is fully dependent on the number of books you have uploaded for both contracts. For example, you signed a non-exclusive contract and uploaded 5 novels that have more than 30,000 words. In this case, you will receive 5 signing bonuses amounting to $250 in total.
'The completion bonus is dependent on the contract type and novel's length. If you signed a non-exclusive contract, you could only get a completion bonus once. If your novel's length is more than 80,000 words but less than 150,000 words, you will get $75. If your novel's length is more than 150,000 words, you will get $125. For example, you have uploaded a novel that has 90,000 words. You will get a completion bonus of $75. Next, you decide to upload a novel that has 200,000 words. You won't get a bonus for this one since you get a completion bonus only once. Thus, make sure to upload your longest book to benefit the most! If you have an exclusive contract, the number of completion bonuses is fully dependent on the number of novels you have uploaded and the length of your novels. Length criteria: 75,000 words - 100,000 words → $150 100,000 words - 150,000 words → $200 150,000 words - 250,000 words → $300 More than 250,000 words → $400 For example, you have an exclusive contract and uploaded two novels. One novel has a length of 110,000 words, and another novel has a length of 80,000 words. This means that you will get 2 completion bonuses amounting to $350 in total.'
You can withdraw your bonuses only when your novel generates at least 50% of the bonus in royalties. For example, your signing bonus is $50. This means that your book should earn $25 so you can withdraw your bonus. The same logic applies to the completion bonus as well.
How should I apply for MAB?
Currently MAB is only available for English-written novels. While applying for the contract with an exclusive book you can click on the strong button and your story will be reviewed during 10 business days.
You can receive MAB for the first three months after signing the contract. We take into account calendar months and you need to add words within 25 days. If you are applying in the middle of the month, MAB will be starting from the next month. A calendar with tracking will be displayed in your writer’s account and you can add chapters from then on. If you meet the criteria of attendance and other requirements of MAB, you will receive MAB every such month. Payments will be processed on the last day of the month.
You will have access to the Daily Update Calendar where you can track your publications and check-ins. The calendar shows completed days and the number of words added in each of those days. So you can easily track your progress and plan your time.
The requirements are simple:
- you need to upload at least 2,000 words each day during 25 days in the calendar month;
- the MAB can only be received by one exclusive english-written book at a time;
- if you don't manage to add words in the first month you can still add words daily the following 2 months, but if you don’t meet the criteria for 2 months in a row, you can’t receive the MAB for the 3rd month.
Monthly Attendance Bonus is available only for one of the signed novels with an exclusive contract. MAB gives you the opportunity to receive the bonus for the daily continuation of this novel.
The calendar with check-in tracking will be open for your novel at the beginning of the following month and as soon as it is open you can start adding chapters.
If we see that novel is not meeting our quality standards or is plagiarised, we reject such works. Also, some applicants could be asked some additional information to complete a detailed KYC check.
We will provide you with the rejection reason and some suggestions for adjustment. You can also try to resubmit your novel application.
As for MAB rejection or termination reasons might be as following:
- Exclusivity criteria: book is available on other platforms or published for free.
- Book was already published and removed on other platforms. For MAB we expect only brand new novels.
- Plagiarism criteria: novel is an intellectual property of other author and is not written by applying author.
- Low quality content criteria: if novel is not meeting our editorial standards, has a lot of grammatical errors, dull plot etc.
You should add at least 2,000 words daily in order to be eligible for receiving the MAB.
Those books that were signed before MAB was released can’t participate in it. Monthly Attendance Bonus is eligible to new and ongoing books that are signing an exclusive contract with MAB requirements and criteria mentioned.
Monthly Attendance Bonus is $200 if all the criteria mentioned above is met. When you have published 50,000 words or more, you’ll receive the same $200 as a fixed amount.
MAB applies only to exclusively signed books. You can’t change the type of contract to exclusive and be eligible for MAB with this book.
The criteria is to do daily addings in order to have readers attention and promo of the regular updates. Sure, you can upload the whole story at once, but such a book won’t be receiving the MAB.
We won’t accept such books during the review, so you can’t delete your signed novel and reapply with it to get MAB.
